SPICED MAPLE BROWN-MUSTARD HAM-----------------------------------------------------------------------------BACK TO RECIPES
12-18 servings
6 lb. bone-in partially cooked pork shoulder half picnic ham
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2/3 cup real maple syrup
3 tbsp. spicy brown
mustard
1. Score fat on top of ham
2. In small bowl blend cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Sprinkle or rub over ham
3. Place ham in a roasting pan with 1/3 cup of water
4. Melt butter over medium heat and add onion; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Blend in syrup and mustard. Bring to the boil. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes or until mixture has thickened
5. Spoon half of maple mixture over ham
6. Cover ham loosely with foil and grill for 2 hours
7. Uncover and baste with remaining maple-onion mixture
8. Grill 30 to 45 minutes longer or until internal temperature is 155 to 160 degrees F
9. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before carving
