GRILLED CHICKEN BREASTS----- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------BACK TO RECIPES

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 7 oz. each)
2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1. Prepare your grill and preheat for direct-heat cooking (medium-high)
2. Rinse chicken and pat dry. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk, salt, sugar, and pepper. Add chicken, stir to coat evenly, then cover and chill at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours
3. Lift chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip back into the bowl. Discard the buttermilk
4. Lay chicken on oiled grill (keep charcoal grill uncovered, keep gas grill lid down)
5. Cook, turning once with tongs, until meat is no longer pink in center - 10 to 14 minutes total
6. Transfer chicken to a clean platter and serve
